Walter Weronka

About

A University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduate with degrees in Journalism and Political Philosophy, and additionally a Masters in Educational Administration from California State University at Northridge.

Weronka currently is an Assistant Principal at Jack London High School in Los Angeles and previously spent three years developing and teaching English curriculum for the Los Angeles Unified School District. Before that Weronka taught English and Journalism at Westchester High School in Los Angeles.

Before entering the field of education, Weronka worked in many corporate settings: Manager of Public Relations for the Fortune 500 company Humana, Vice President of Fischer & Partners (a healthcare public relations firm), and Communication Consultant with Aon Inc. He also owned and ran his own public relations and communications firm.

Prior to entering the corporate world, Weronka was in the newspaper business for many years, working for The Associated Press, The Louisville Courier-Journal and other newspapers. It was at The Courier-Journal that Weronka was on a news team that won the 1989 Pulitzer Prize for reporting.

Weronka, a veteran, also spent time in broadcasting and delved into acting and voice-over.
